Universal Weedeater Heads

Universal Weedeater Heads

Universal Weedeater Heads

This product really works. However, if I pushed the lines close enough to concrete, the lines would still snap off at the head, but they'd break much less frequently than on traditional trimmer heads. I have found the 20x increase in line life claim to be not far off the mark. Although this product saves me lots of lines, I do have to stop a few times to put in new lines in order to fully trim a suburban backyard overgrown with tall weeds.

And each time it takes a couple of minutes to do. With traditional bump feeds, you just bump the head and keep on going without the periodic interruptions, so I'm trading non-interruptions and convenience for line savings when using the Pivotrim head.

Pivotrim comes in either the Pro version or the standard version. The Pro version takes either 0.095" or 0.105" lines. I suppose it's possible the Pro version can also accept 0.080" lines, but I've never tried it. The standard version takes either 0.080" or 0.095" lines. The Pro version has a heavier and thicker housing.

The only real shortcoming with the Pivotrim not mentioned in its advertisement is that, long, tough, fiberous weeds, such as pampas grass blades, have a strong tendency to coil around the top of the housing, requiring periodic cleanup during a trimming sesson. This is primarily due to the geometry of the head design which creates a narrow neck between the trimmer and the trimmer head that tends to wrap tough grass blades around the neck. It should have a closed trimmer head design like that found on the Husquarnas to prevent this problem.

This the very first "as seen on tv" product that I have ever purchased that has actually worked as good as they say. I have used about 15 or 20 heads on my weed-eater trying to find one that's not a pain in the ***. I have tried about all the fixed line models and usually I have to change the line out 4 or 5 times to weed eat my yard and with this head I did not have to change the line one time and it still looks good! I will never purchase another as this one has won me over. It took me about 10 mins to put it on (9 to get the other one off and 1 to put this one on lol) and it comes with many different bolts for different weed eaters. I do not give many reviews but had to say how happy I am with this product.
